=This page is my, Haley Sutera's, final project for the summer program. It is about Jeremy Price, a man convicted of manslaughter and the conflict if he was mentally stable at the time or not. This case relates to me simply because Jeremy is also a teenager who lives in Massachusetts, and a teen who has delt with the law. I have studied the law and criminals in this program for past projects and Jeremy has come face to face with law so I believed that our two views coming together would be an interesting project. Enjoy:)P.S. Jhat consists of 4 students who decided to stick together and do a final project that all had a common thread, teenage criminals. The four students are myself, Jessie, Thomas, and Ariana.

Above is a picture of Jeremy Price.
Jeremy Prince, 17, lived in Mattapan and escaped the hospital he was in (he was there for mental issues) by scaling a 15ft fence outside of the hospital. Jeremy ran into Michael Hansbury, age 41, and got into some kind of arguement which is unknown to me. Price punched Michael in the face and when Mike fell to the ground because of the punch, he hit his head on the curb and had uncontrolable bleeding. Resulting in the death of Michael Hansbury as seen in the picture below.
Below is the hospital in Tewksbury that Jeremy escaped from.
Because of his mental issues, Jeremy was deemed "not competant for a trial." Now most would testify against his ability to participate in a trial because of his "mental issues" but coming from the fact he escaped from a mental health hospital showed right away this was true. This problem would usually be brought up during court that he wasn't in control of his actions at the time, but his issue was not for a certain peroid of time, it was all the time so the court didn't even need to make the decision if he was mentally unstable at the time of the killing.
At first they used helicopters and dogs to look for him but after about a day with no luck, they called off the active search, but he was later found in Dorchester.
This is the city Jeremy was found in. ^
<-- Glog about Jeremy Price case and some facts about the case. The picture of a tall fence is to symbolize the fence Jeremy had to scale to escape the hospital and the picture of a person is Jeremy Price.
Below is a Wordle of words I think about when I read about the Jeremy Price case.
(I wrote some words because they stated the obvious and would give a general idea to those who havent heard the case yet. But I put the word conflict in because the true conflict in the case isn't just how a man accidentally killed another man, its about if Jeremy Price was mentally in control at the time of the murder. Decisions because of the decisions the jury will make about his sanity and how he will be sentenced.)
Sentances
Because of Jeremys problems, I'm not sure what he will be sentenced to. He may get a large fine or maybe be held permenantly in a hospital. It's up to the court to figure out what is most appropriate for this kind of issue. For some of the other jhats criminals, they will probably get jail time and no parole or fines or community service. Ariana's criminal, the Barefoot Bandit will be tried as an adult and get life in jail. Thomas's criminal, James 'Whitey' Bulger is still at large but when he gets caught he will get life in prison because of the long term crimes that go on and on. Finally Jessie's criminal, Johnathon Gray will get in a lot of trouble and his charges wont be any lighter than the other criminals on our final project list.
Relations
Jeremy Price was a teenager when he commited murder, and so were all of the other criminals in jhats final projects. This connects to us because this is an example of how some teenagers can be very bad and do stupid things and the results and punishments of thier actions shows my group and I (being all teenagers) what not to be in life. All four of our murderers were on the run and one still is. Jeremy, James, Colton and Jonathan all have to go and have some kind of punishment with a court and deal with the consiquences. I think the world needs these kinds of teenagers because without them others wouldnt know right from wrong and know that if you break the rules you have to deal with the consiquences.
This is my groups discussion and opinions on all of our criminals and how we feel they should be punished. My group decided to used a pirate pad to organize our thought better and we thought it would also look better.
